i hope ariel looks smart enough to be huang rong... her character in ISWAK is imprinted too deeply in my mind!!

Ariel will be smart enough as Huang Rong. All those who watched Tian Wai Fei Xian would know that her character as Xiao Qi is adorable and pretty smart, and her role in Love Contract is one of an extremely intelligent person. I think both of them will be so good in this show as Hu Ge has a sort of sha3 personality, which is going to be better than Li Ya Peng, who acted way too dumb.

Well, in defence of Li Ya Peng...Guo Jing's SUPPOSED to be quite dumb...he's not the sharpest tool in the shed...I watched the TVB 83 version and Felix Wong's Guo Jing was even dumber....hehee....In the TVB 94 version of LOCH, many fans complained that Julian Cheung's Guo Jing was not dumb enough!!!!

So I think that .Ge Ge will have to be follow the "dumb" trend though, I think, since Guo Jing is not a very intelligent character but his looks are MUCH better than the previous Guo Jing's....hehee....which is great....eye candy is always welcome!!!!

Ariel, I think, will make a GREAT Huang Rong....I just get angry how ppl keep on pressuring the poor girl to lose weight....she looks FINE the way she is....all chinese actresses are literally anorexic looking now....who ever said Huang Rong was stick-thin?! She's supposed to be a beautiful, vibrant girl...and you can't look beautiful or vibrant if you're underweight and malnourished...geez!!! Anyway, from the pictures, Ariel fits the bill as Huang Rong...I just hope she doesn't turn into a walking stick just to please those pesky reporters....argh..... :wacko:

I just watched the trailer and it looks... well, let's just say that I have no doubt that when this series comes out, I will absolutely love it.

I honestly think that this version is soooo much better than the '03 version with Li Ya Peng. I think I feel asleep while watching it :P:

I SO can't wait to see this series!! I hope Ge Ge and Ariel's chemistry is even better than in TWFX. I definitely think Ariel can play Huang Rong; she's played lively, clever characters before, and she's an extremely versatile actress. It'll be a challenge, or course, but she's definitely capable of filling the role and even bringing more to it.

Does anyone think that Ariel is the youngest-looking Huang Rong so far, despite the fact that Huang Rong is supposed to be 15-ish? I was just wondering why there were complaints about Ariel's appearance in relation to the character's age if she's the youngest-looking Huang Rong so far.

Oh, and I think Hu Ge's hair is so messy, b/c his character is supposed to be somewhat ugly, and they were doing their best to cover up his gorgeousness with the messy hair, lol. It's hard for me to imagine Hu Ge as dumb, but I think he can pull off the dumb but pure-hearted character well. I don't think they can entirely achieve the ugly look, though, b/c it'll take a lot more than bad hair to make Hu Ge anything close to ugly.
