From Veevee

Welcome to Challenge 4!!!
So far we've had trivial, we've had graphic, we even had
SINGING!!! So of course we can't miss MV!!!!!!!!!!!
(hehe my specialty)


MV Restrictions:
1. No shorter than 2 mins and no longer than 8 mins long.
2. Have to have a storyline to it.
3. Can only use clips I've provided.
4. Can use any songs you'd like.


The MVs you and your partner are making are from Chinese Paladin. As
everyone should know, there is a love triangle thing going on among Yue Ru,
Xiao Yao, and Ling'er. So I'd like each couple to make an MV that portrayed
their complicated love triangle. The Mv does not have to follow the CP
storyline, it can make your own creative story with the clips. (ie. Yue ru's
fans mite want to change the story
around and have Xiao Yao be with her).

This challenge is once again not based on QUALITY, like the others it is
based on your creativeness to make your own story while restricted to only
some specific scenes. And of course the right music with the right clips.

The download links to the scenes are under here. You do not have to download
all, just the ones you will be using for your MV. All clips are in WMV file,
so it is compatible with MOVIE MAKER. Most of you should already have that.
If you are using another program to create the MV then you'll most likely
have to convert the clips to AVI file.

So once again, plz collaborate with your partner. And the MV must have a
STORYLINE. And it must be clear so that when I watch I'll be able to see
what you guys are trying to portray. (I usually get the idea tho). You will
have 3 days for this challenge so plenty of time.

Once done with your MV, plz upload it onto YOUTUBE. So we
won't have to DL.

WINNER of this round will kick off TWO COUPLES. Leaving ONLY 3 couples
left to go to round 5. The only safe couples for this round is if you get
first place, the winner, or 2nd place. The last 3 will be chosen by the
winning couple to kick out 2.


TIPS
- To keep the viewers' interest and not bored them, no clips should be
longer than 8 secs.
- Easiest way to create a storyline is choose a good song, and follow the
lyrics.

Ok, so I've made and example MV for everyone to see. I've also followed the restrictions I gave you guys, so then it's fair. Here is what I meant by saying the MV needs to have a story. As you will see in my MV it has nothing to do with the CP original storyline. But just my own story created by manipulating the clips. ENJOY and GOODLUCK everyone!!!

aww gosh veevee that's such a good idea but now we can't use it anymore :cry: oh well I guess we'll just have to go rack our brains for another one.

btw, just to let you guys know, I'll be Teddy's partner for this round in place of yanyan because she's away for a few days.

oh yeah I have a question, does the song we choose have to be in English or can it be in Chinese?

i'm pretty sure it doesnt matter what the song is lol, as long as you get ur msg across o_O... and june 1st seems kinda short don't you think...

ok i dunno if its hard for the rest of you guys but doing a music video with windows movie maker is VERY frustrating... i can't work with it and it wont work with me. for some reason the stupid video audio and the music audio play at the same time even tho i keep telling to to play just the music! AH FRUSTRATING and the stupid transitions wont work either....

Wow ... nice challenge!! Creative as usual! I do wonder how you pplz think of these things!! =P

ok so taking advantage of my internet not being disconnected yet, i will summarize my MV, so then it's easier to understand for you guys.

I turned things around in my MV, so the story follows:
In the beginnin u will see xiao yao sitting there thinking of yue ru, then a flashback of her before she dies, then he thot of their first meeting.
MV switch back to present time, showing xiao yao meeting ling'er, but everything he did with ling'er reminded him of yue ru, so you will see a lot of flashbacks.
Xiao Yao ran out of his wedding wif ling'er becuz he thinks he is using her as a rebound, and that he's afraid if he fell for another and end up seeing her die too, it would break his heart one more time. But ling'er convinces him that she wont' die...
so one last time he had a flashback of yue ru's death and finally able to let this burden go and be with ling'er

and if u listen carefully there the songs that i've used is the SAME one, except it is two different version. The first version, the female singer is singing in korean, and the 2nd version the female singer is singin in chinese. My way of portraying the idea that xiao yao's letting go of yue ru, and wif a new song he is able to be wif ling'er

this time i shall quote what serena said in the thread of challenge 3 results: "..the competition is getting fierced... "

to my partner tuyet: I am glad we have made it this far. we have helped each other in the previous challenges and overcomed all the difficulties miraculously. in the first one, u have answered most of the questions and I have found out those u cant answer by browsing through those chinese websites. in the second, as a noob of PS, i really had no idea what i should do and you pulled the team out of desperation. in the third one,as u were taking ur finals, i wrote the lyrics and sweet modified some parts of it, again, we made it through. (thanks to the other team, jen and dave) and here comes the fourth, I am not sure we can be the champion in the end, but all i want to say is that I am grateful to have ya as my partner. we do our best and leave no regrets.

I want to thank veevee for 'forcing' me to be part of the challenges. (yes, I still hate ya, haha)

I want to thank serena for guiding me ard in the world of PS. ( ya, I am still a noob and I am learning)

Ahhh I'm excited!!!! though our mv's not ready just yet, but I can't wait to see everyone else's!!!!!!!!!! haha but as of right now, I'm in love with veevee's mv. (look below) it's sooo touching!!!! :crie:

Sweetz - I had that trouble too. Actually mine would save to a certain percentage and just stop. Then I found out that there was something wrong with that clip so I readded it. What happens when you try to save it? Maybe I can try to help.

i am currently at the public library to be able to access internet, so as u can see i have not been on for some dayz and will continue not to be on for the rest of the upcoming week, due to modem break down or something wrong wif it. Tech guy cannot make it till sat. june 10th SO THIS SUX!!!

ne wayz, i will try to judge the MVs as soon as i can, (hehe gotta go bug my friend to let me use ur comp) so it will be sometime until u see results and the LAST CHALLENGE UP. so hope u guys understand...

mine is stupid... u see the song is lik 6 mins.. so my mv is 6 mins.. but somehow, afta saving, half the music disapperas at like 4 mins...
so i have 2 minutes of weirdo clips hanging there... but if i view it as the project, it is STILL normal....

i am sooo sick and tired or WMM atm.... *growls*

You could use Adobe Premiere Pro. It's kinda complicated, but I find it better the WMM. I use WMM to tweak my MV after I'm done making it.

yeah I heard adobe premiere is really hard to use! maybe I'll work my way there after wmm becomes too simple for me =)
