Please treat this as a SERIOUS question, and NOT a trick question.

If your mom and your beloved both fall down the ocean at the same time, who would you save? They both don't know how to swim. There is no one there to save the other person. There is no safety floating tube or any objects nearby. You can ONLY save one.

Just remember that question being asked in many series. I just wanna know what are you guys choice and explaination.

Your right. This question has been asked many times and I think the answer that I find the most satisfying is the one provided by Sun Xie Zhi on an episode of the variety show, Wan Quan Yu Le. I agree with everything he said.

Basically...

I would try to save both at once. If I succeed, then great. If I don't succeed, then we might as well all die together because even if I'm able to save one, I wouldn't want to live after losing such an important person in my life and knowing that the person died because of me.

I will jump into the ocean to save my mom first without thinking........ then i go to save my beloved.

the reason is SHE IS MY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!! I dun think there is better reason for this.

I would definitely save my mother first, no need to explain for that. I mean if there really was no floaty thing to hang on to then if i grabbed my mother we would still both die too, cuz i would not be able to stay on top of the water that long. So most likely there WOULD be someting that floats near by, OR i will find something so my mother can stick onto to save herself. Then I will go afta my BELOVED....

Well I would definitely save my mother. Bring her to safety and go for my beloved. If I can't save her I would rather just drown with her.

I assume that the condition of this qeustion is , u can only save one person at a time. if all of us say we save both, well, wats the pt?

well, we are basically saying that we can't choose and would rather die trying to save both then choose to only save one.

I would save my mom.... she's family and I think that comes before anything else. Of course I would try to save my beloved too if I could but I'm really close to my mom and I couldn't imagine just letting her drown. I wouldn't be able to live with that.

ok ok if we can ONLY pick one then I agree with what some of you guys said. I would save my mom and then just go die with my beloved. Your mom is very important to you so you can't just stand there and watch her die. Your beloved though, as it says beloved, is someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with. If you're truly in love with that person then just like a family member, he or she is irreplaceable. People do go on living without their moms but many people (in ancient times that is) decide to end their lives just because their beloved died and they feel like there's no point in living anymore.

Ugh that came out sounding way worse than I intended for it to. I'm not trying to say that your mom isn't as important as your beloved, I'm just saying, they're important in different ways.

Mom = you want to see her living happily.
Beloved = you can't live without him/her.

i think i would either save my mom, or go down with both of them....

Yes the ones left behind experience the most pain but unlike a "beloved", which is one in a lifetime, your mom would most likely have other "family members" left. She would have your dad and your siblings, who are of equal importance as you. I don't think she would choose to end her life knowing that there are other people who need her.

The only exception is if you're an only child and your dad died already but since that wasn't a condition so.. it's possible but not necessarily true.

hmm... dis is a hard question.. but i will try to save them both cuz i would feel bad if the other person died becuz i didn't save them... dat would haunt me for life... haha... but i can't swim either way soo might as well died together...

Like most of you....I will save my mom.

First I will call the police and hope they come in time. Then I will jump down and save my mom and take her to shore. After that I will jump down to save my beloved, but I already said you can only save one person. So that means I'll die with my beloved. My mom will get over the grief because there are relatives to support her. And there is a saying, "Time will heal."

definitely my mom first...but i would much rather go to save both of them and try my best to get both of them out. if i can't rescue both of them, i might as well die too....but if i were to choose one person, it would be my mom....

this is a very hard question. i would feel sow sorry/sad if someone were to die because of me. but i would try to save my mum first because she is after all the one who gave life to me :D after that i would try to save my beloved if it isn't possible i will join him in death. even trough my mom would feel sad i think she would also understand that i had to try and save him because if i didn't i wouldn't be able to life with myself ^_^
