This is what this Japan Series is about. A 15 year old girl named Aya Ikeuchi has this disease and is desperately fighting it. But knowing that there's no cure yet for this sickness, how would you be?

Based on a true story

This story is about a girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The original story is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Liter of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies.

Aya's only wish was “to live." By carefully depicting Aya's earnest desire to live, and the love of her family, friends, and lover, the drama, “One Liter of Tears" wishes to deliver her simple but strong message: “Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."

The drama series is really heartwarming and it also entails a very nice message to it.
It's soo sad...but it worth every tears.
I definitely recommend everyone to watch it!

I've watched eps 1 and 2 thanks to Sweetz lolz ... and it seems pretty good!! I have to say though ... any series which gets depressing in the first two eps is ... wellz ... either very well made or too dramatic ... this one seems quite good though!! =D

I cry so much when I'm watching this series. I never cry like that before whenever I watch a sad movies or series. But I cry so much that my eyes got all red. It is a good series.

I've heard a lot about this series, but haven't watched it yet. How's the chemistry between the main leads, because I really value strong and electrifying connections between leads in dramas.

this was seriously the SADDDEST show i've ever watched. just watching the main girl eventually die made me shed more than 1 litre of tears.

my favorite part was when her younger sister yelled at her brother for being ashamed of her sister's sickness... soooooooo sad :cry:

OMG this series is one of the saddest series I've ever seen..I cried soo much during the last few eppies, I had red-rimmed eyes...my friend thought I was crazy for shedding so many tears for a series but since it was a true story, I was crying for the series and for real Aya....*sniff*...it's not a series I'd wanna watch again since it was so sad but it def. left a huge impression on me. Life life. Appreciate it. And seize every moment of it. The messages in here were phenomenally powerful!!!

I think the drama is very touching and meaningful. It talks so much about life. About cherishing your family,your friends, everyone around you. I was nearly moved to tears by Aya's fighting spirit and her thoughfulness.

This is probably the best J-Drama I have ever watched, and not to mention the saddest! This series really touches you from beginning to end on love, family, friends and most importantly treasuring your life and living it to the fullest.

I really cried heaps watching this! This series is not to be missed! But what really touched me was that this was based on a true story of the girl's diary, in which the series pays tribute to at the end of every episode. :cry:

Also pretty interesting... Actually the sickness Aya had is not such a rare one. Recently I watched something about it on TV and found out that actually a lot more people get ths sickness than I ever imagined.

Wathing 1 Litre of tears... I felt that I was lucky to be healthy. My body is not perfect and my eyes just kill me, but at least I'm healthy. It must be horrible to end up like that... Not being able to move around or talk...

Erica [is that her name?? =S] really looks like the Jap girl in Tekken 5 haha!!!!! =D And she's a pretty good actress ... in the few eps I watched I can already see how the series would end up as sad as you guys say!!
