(heart breaking yet?? *sniff*)

During the filming of the 601st Fone Call, hu ge had to act as a person who was admitted to hospital. Naturally, to make the scene real, the director asked the nurse to 'play fake' with the piercing. Yet, no matter how careful the nurse did it, it didn't spare hu ge piercings. With lots of NG scenes, poor Hu Ge had LOTS of red dots on his hand as he was pierced with a needle (to form a catether for like drips) and was injected with Glucose.

He doesn't allow them to talk too much about it (probably coz it hurts) and tells people it was rather comfortable coz he was lying down, but all the tubes and needles made it extremely uncomfortable and the temperature of the room was rather hot, which meant it was rather uncomfortable. Hu ge advises all to maintain their health and not to be admitted into hospital (and admin here will seriously advice you to keep your health status high... and hospitals are scary...)

He was also required to lose some hair, (due to his illness) and the witty hu ge literally plucked hair from his hair... director was horrified and ordered them to use fake hair, saying hu ge will be bald soon if he keep plucking his hair.

During the filming, it was required for hu ge to say "i am cute/handsome'. For such a cute guy to admit it on screen was rather arrogant. Poor hu ge, who had to say it in a rather dis-hearted way was horrified to learn he had to say it as if he really thought he was cute/handsome, but didn't have much high self esteem.

Aww poor guy.. but I've had that done before and it really doesn't hurt after the needle is in you. It's just a prick when they put it in. I can see how after having it done multiple times it'll get swollen though.

I don't see why they didn't just tape a needle to his hand. Why does it have to go in??

Ouchhhhhhh!!!!! Poor guy! yeah it doesn't hurt that much get it done once but multiple times?! ouch! and plus it's really scary. so even if it's not painful, your mind probably makes it out to be worse than it really is.

yeah prob is it goes in painful.... a prick? isn't it like a tube?? it isn't a normal drip it is the ones that are injected into your veins so the stuff goes directly into your blood stream... it is a needle with a tube outside... and then you inject it..

skin on the bak of the hands are very sensitive... poor ge ge mann *sniff*

Well it is a tube but it's a needle that gets stuck in your hand. Think of the needle as a really thing tube if you will.
Maybe it's just me but it felt like just a prick. :/ I'm not really fazed by needles.

Although it does leave a nasty red spot on your hand. At least he's getting lots of glucose right? :tongue:

lol i know the needles.... i watched ppl put them in and out... but yeah i am terrified of needles... (bad experience once and neveeerrr again man!!)

it's heartbreaking enough just by looking at the pictures, can't imagine how bad i would be tearing when watching the show. :cry:

oh wellz... we shall support hu ge by going to the cinema to watch it.... unless aus doesn't have it then i will go and by the DVD... a real one ^^ if not.. damn....

I really want to go watch it in theaters but I don't think that's possible here. When is this coming out? Maybe I can watch it while I'm in China.

i've had an IV tube in me before - yea, it sucks. was it just the needles or did fluid actually go in, too? if there was no fluid, d'oh, that would really be uncomfortable. with fluid, it just gets cold hehe and it hurts after a while.

when did this happen? is he ok now?

teddy i acutally had that before when I injured my neck. I had those needles stuck in me. It hurt in the beginning but after awhile it didn't hurt. It actually feels nice. ^_^

They're putting glucose in him. I still don't see why they don't just tape a needle to his hand instead of actually sticking it in. You probably won't even be able to tell while you're watching the movie.

I don't think that anesthesia hurts you at all. :/ But that thing that puts you to sleep... man that stuff kills! Good thing it knocks you out in like 2 seconds because it really hurts like hell when it's going up your bloodstream.

I had those needles stuck in me i know how it feels even though it was a long time ago ^_^

THis is another sign of true actor not afraid to be true to himself and others. I just hope that all of this sufferings go to waste.

WOW, talk about being a real pro!! :P: Even thoug GeGe had to suffer through this, it shows that for his art, he'll endure pain. I actually really liked the "realisim" of the scene in the movie where a nurse really *did* stick needles in him - and he didn't look fazed at ALL! It made me pity his character in the movie more - and ofcourse, my admiration for GeGe grew.

It's apparently not strange to make actors/actresses suffer for the realism of a film. I mean, Ariel had to diet like CRAZY to lose weight for LOCH (which probably isn't fun either). There are actors like Christian Bale who had to lose weight so dramatically that he looked skeletal for the movie "The Mechanist" where he played the role of a man who didn't sleep in years. When it boils down to it, it's all about how much you want to express yourself in a film. For many stars, personal suffering during filming only adds to their depth and their range as a performer.

I'm proud of Ge Ge for being more than just a "pretty face". There are lots of handsome asian actors out there, but to me, Ge Ge's definitley more than just pretty-boy looks - he's the real deal!!! :lol:
