The Chinese legend Journey to the West gives rise to many absorbing movies and TV series. From Dicky Cheung's portrayal of the Monkey King to the Stephen Chow movie A Chinese Odyssey Part or even the recent A Chinese Tall Story, variations to this classic have amused countless fans in the past decade. The TV series Hong Hai Er now offers yet another version by turning a small episode in the Journey to the West to a TV drama. Taiwanese handsome actor Vincent Jiao and Hong Kong award-winning actress Cecilia Yip (Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress for Let's Make Laugh in 1984) teams up to play an immortal couple - Bull King and Iron Fan Princess. Their son named Hong Hai Er (literally meaning "Red Child") is a naughty but kind-hearted kid who believes in a hoax of using Monk Tang's flesh to cure his mother's disease...
