done.

you need some basic understanding of culture and tradition of china to understand what they are talking abt.

********************************************************************

The ‘n’ stands for the name of the host nana and I will use a ‘g’ to represent hug e.

N: is there any lucky things happened to you in year 2005?
G: you mean lucky or affairs? (note: lucky and affair sound the same in chinese)
N: both.
G: let’s talk about those lucky things happened around me.
N: why did you ask me in the first place?
G: I was afraid of saying something wrongly.
G: the luckiest thing ever happened to me in year 2005 was to know nana.
N: *clapping hands* is there anything else?
G: oh, that would be nana knows about me.
G: *clapping hands*

N: Now we talk about Wu junru.
G: I like her very much.
N: is it because……. you acted with her, or because of something else?
G: it is because I can feel some similarities between you two, in other words, she is like you.
N: yes, it is right. Someone told me the same thing a few days ago.

N: how do you think of taozi?
G: she is an awesome host and……
N: and she is like me again? Why is everyone like me?
G: …… so is that a hint or something? (the topic was the pregnancy that day )
(note: pregnancy, luck and affair sound exactly the same in Chinese, hu ge is playing around with words.)
N: NO! it is not a hint, of course not!!!
G: …*pretending to be silly*… the fifth…the fourth…the third…the second… and who is the first one???
N: *angry* it is not me anyway!

(After commercial)
N: welcome back!
G: I am back again…… *laugh out load*
N: you are here to spoil my show, aren’t you?

N: hu ge, Cheers!
G: Cheers!
N: …hmm…. Not bad. This is wine, 1982.
G: *almost vomit* …….. the coffee has turned into other color…. (he is actually drinking orange juice)
*nana continues to host*
*hu ge continues to smirk*
(After the commercial)
N: welcome back again. He ge was out of control just now and I believe he was too happy because of Chinese new year.

N: come, you learn Sichuan dialect from me. Happy new year.
G: happy new year.
N: all the best.
G: all the best.
N: nana is very pretty.
G: nana is very…… *turn around and look at nana* …… pretty.(he said pretty in Chinese instead of Sichuan dialect)
N: why did you say it?
G: because I want to tell all the audiences in china that you are pretty.

*speak Sichuan dialect*
N: happy new year.
G: happy new year.
N: I am xie na.
G: I am hu ge.
N: hu ge, happy new year.
G: hu ge…… hu…… xiena, happy new year. (hu ge, you are so cute! How can you make mistakes such like this one?)

N: what did you normally do during the filming when you felt tired?
G: oh, I would think about you.
N: *push hu ge * hurry, tell me the truth.
G: I played around with people and they would tell me that I became xie na again.

N: hu ge, do you have any new series coming up this year?
G: liao zhai, tian wai fei xian are showing now. Bie ai wo will come out during the summer holiday. Shao nian yang jia jiang will be shown at the second half of the year.
N: expecting…… let us see the new series which made by veteran.
G: *angry* you mean I am old?

N: you started singing since you filmed Chinese paladin, didn’t you?
* hu ge is nodding*
N: and you like it?
* hu ge is still nodding*
N: many actors sing once they did well in acting.
* hu ge continues nodding*
N: what do we do next?
* hu ge raises up three fingers*
N: yes, the third……
(it seems it was a heavy blow to hu ge when he was called “old” by nana. He did not go straight into nana’s trap.)

G: there is sword injury on my hands.
N: filming is really dangerous.
G: that is why everyone should go to buy insurance.
N: ordinary people won’t go filming.

N: I am not sure if you have heard of this song before.
G: yes, I did.
N: …………
G: I have heard all the songs you can sing.
N: …………
*nana sang another song*
* hu ge could not stop laughing and went to drink orange juice*
N: HU GE!!!!!!

N: what were you doing while the four heaven kings were very popular?
G: I think I was studying in primary school…… should be primary six.
N: I think I was in kindergarten that time. I could roughly notice the existence of the four heaven kings.
G: I believe the audience could comprehend…………..
N: please don’t go to check……(actually xie na is older than hu ge)

N: hu ge, what kind of girl do you like?
G: it is obvious, isn’t it?
N: no, not me. I mean other girls……..
G: hmm…….. those vivacious ones……
N: oh, vavicious…… you mean those in blue shirt(xie na is in blue shirt) with their hair tied up? (this is xie na’s hair style)
G: erh…….. hmm……… blue is my favorite color……
N: •¥%¥%—#¥……there is a blue elf……•#%¥%—

N: now we can talk about star girl. We may call those co-star of yours to be Hu girl.
G: …… so are you a Hu girl now?
N: *scratching head* …… I think so……. I think you are a xie boy….

N: come, I teach you Sichuan dialect. Hello, grandpa, give me some hongbao.
G: Hello, grandpa, give me some hongbao.
N: good boy. Huh? How can I be grandpa?

N: how much money you will give me during the Chinese new year?
*hu ge holds in xie na’s arm and try to whisper to her, but xie na thinks……..*
N: no, no need…….. up to you……. It is alright……. You can treat me dinner if you want…….
*hu ge whispers to xie na*
N: you win!!!
(I think hu ge don’t want to give her anything.)

*xie na and hu ge are reading Chinese caplet*
N: where is the hengpi?
G: hengpi will be: xienahuge.
N: your jokes are much worse than mine.

G: *standing on the staircase* I am taller now.
N: oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you that I was standing on the staircase just now in order to be seen as tall as him.
G: *new step down* I am still taller than you.
N: hu ge, take the fake leg away.

N: hey, I have a puzzle for you. Why are two tigers fighting each other?
G: hmm…… ok…… we will reveal the answer later. Now let’s look at the fifth…..
N: …… you win…….
(After commercial)
N: still the same question, please answer.
G: ………let’s look at the fourth……
N: hey, I don’t think you can say let’s look at the third next time.
G: why are two tigers fighting each other?
N: (lol) I bet you don’t know.
G: because…because…… they saw nana!!!!!!!1

N: is it? Ok, here is another one.
G: nah… stop it. It is Chinese new year and you ask me all sort of weird puzzles……. All the audiences are watching.

N: let me sing a popular song to you.
G: oh, no…… please.
N: it is called “you are the only person in my heart”.
G: huh? This is not my song……..

N: do you think he ling is a person who is easily agitated?
G: he will never be angry with me. Because both of us stop growing, he thinks that if we two fight each other, he will lose out.
N: I wish hu ge become more and more popular in the coming year.
G: nana has talked a lot just now. I only have one line to say, which is I hope nana is batter than me.
N: of course!!!!!!!
*look at hu ge’s facial expression*

About hu ge’s teeth.

N: what do you usually eat at home during Chinese new year? Did you say some thing like fish?
G: yes! Because my teeth are no good, my mum usually cook fish for me. (very cute tone)

N: I think horses are a dangerous.
G: yes, they bite!!!
N: huh, they have teeth?
G: yes, of course…… my…… it eats grass…… use its teeth…… and its teeth are in good shape.
N: really?
G: please don’t ask me anything related to teeth.

Here is an iron-triangle.

G: this is ironical, my birthday is actually the world tooth day and my teeth are bad.
Heling: it is nothing. My birthday is world height day and nana’s is world brain day.

oh, this depends on the standard of the translator.

to bring out the humour in the original context to the target language, which is the translation, u really need skill.

we call the original text as source language and the translation as target language.

so I am not good enough, but I learn from what i have done. see if i can do better in future.

^_^
