[20071010] LOCH Production Team Hit By Typhoon; HuGe & Ariel Took Shelter From Rain Inside A Cave (sina.com, Beijing)Sina entertainment news: A typhoon blew in Zhejiang yesterday. The production team of LOCH, while anxiously filming in Hengdian then, because of the effect of the typhoon, hurriedly recalled from the production site of Chinese Movie Co., the “little white building” to move to another location to film. The production team had earlier on constructed a small grove [woods] and a cave at an open area in the little white building, which could now be utilized as the onset of typhoon had resulted in continuous rainfall these couple of days. Ariel, who’d originally already stopped work for the day, upon receiving notification of the rainy weather at the eleventh-hour, rushed out of bed for make-up, and hurried to the cave at 11pm in the night to meet up with HuGe, and continued working till dawn, 4.30am.
The rain was especially heavy the night before yesterday, causing the man-made cave to leak water incessantly, the ground was all soggy mud. However, because the production schedule was hectic, the production team of LOCH had to persist in filming. Nevertheless this scene happened to talk about a group of people going to rob a posthumous military writings/book; Guo Jing fallen to the ground injured in a sneak attack by Yang Kang; and Huang Rong having to jump in from behind a waterfall to look for Guo Jing. Hence, Hu Ge who plays “Jing GeGe” must not only be drenched by water, but must also lie on the muddy ground. For waterproofing, Hu Ge’s whole body was enfolded in a few layers of plastic wrap [clear food wraps]. According to him, the plastic wrap was mingled with rain water, sweat, and man-made water, this kind of feeling was truly not capable for the average person to enjoy. Ariel, who’d braved the rain to rush to the site of the scene, must also enter the arena with a “wet body”. Eventually, a barrel full of pure/clean water was completely poured on her body. Evidently, the arduous taste of filming could only be understood by the parties concerned.
Despite the adverse circumstances, it was very bustling in the water leaking cave as the cave was just next to the dormitory, thus there was an endless flow of people who came to visit throughout the night, delivering pot after pot of hot soup and all kinds of night snacks [supper food]. Hu Ge and Ariel were both extremely professional for the drama. Their moods didn’t seem to be affected by the adverse weather conditions, on the contrary, even said very happily, “Shooting a drenched body scene on a rainy day, it felt very appropriate!”
