HuGe met with a traffic accident, "LOCH" was forced to stop work. During this period, news of filming recommencing circulated several times, but due to a variety of reasons, it was postponed again and again. Finally on the 23rd of this month, HuGe and YuanHong who plays YangKang, as well as, LiuShiShi who plays Mu NianCi, joined the team in advance, carrying out a 7-day special training. And "LOCH” will also resume filming officially on the 31st of this month.
As it is JinYong's classic swordsman major drama, some of the main characters were all highly-skilled in martial arts. So as to enable filming to go on more smoothly, more rigorously, the three young leading actors, HuGe, YuanHong, Liu ShiShi, were scheduled to join the team earlier to learn a series of fists and kicks KungFu/fighting. Other than doing some routine physical fitness training every day, e.g. jogging, riding the bicycle, leg presses/stretching, crunches/sit-ups, they were also hung on steel wires every day, acting as “flying beings” in the air; at the same time, still had to learn knife, gun, sword and various techniques of fighting.
Chinese Movie Co., at its headquarters, “Little White Building” in HengDian, set up a site exclusively for actors to practice martial arts. YuanHong and Liu ShiShi have already practiced “martial arts competition for a groom to marry into the family” here. And HuGe has to learn different types of supreme skills, e.g. “tame the dragon 18 palms”, to be sure to strive for the real/actual person to perform during filming. Training starts from 9am in the morning every day, ongoing till over at 5pm in the afternoon. Following the first day of training, the few actors’ bodies were “full of injury spots”. Liu ShiShi, because of muscle ache, was even teased for walking with feet splayed outwards. YuanHong was injured on his hands, butt and kneecaps. In contrast, HuGe, comparatively more experienced, has significantly lowered the probability of sustaining injuries. Grueling exercises by all means, yet they all enjoyed very much, smilingly termed this as “pain amid happily”, hoping to get into the character of their roles earlier through training. And HuGe, apart from maneuvering elegant somersault actions in mid air, also did not forget, during practice intervals, to diligently train his voice production technique, and consolidating/strengthening the fruits of him acknowledging a master to learn singing these couple of months. Of course, that declaration of “the haughty dragon repents” as compared to the shout in the past was even more packed of vitality.
