Before the story...
Evil sects have always had an evil king in every generation to lead them. There was one such evil king by the name of Sek Chi Heen. He learned an evil martial art, but since he possessed a kind nature and didn’t want this evil power to harm mankind in the possible future, he asked his two friends to help him freeze himself along with the “Che Dai Se Lae Chi” in the Evil King Tomb. The “Che Dai Se Lau Chi” stored all the past evil kings’ power, and was one of the most invincible power sources in the world. However, the “Che Dai Se Lau Chi” was very tricky, and transferred a part of itself into one of Chi Heen’s friend’s piece of clothing before he left the tomb. (This friend is Fu Guan Chek’s master) This piece of clothing turned out to be the “Immortal Routine”, and along with teaching its reader amazing power, it was also the key to opening the evil king’s tomb.

NOW...

At the end of the Sui Dynasty, China was in chaos. Warlords fought one another in order to expand their territories. Apart from the four political families, the martial art world was divided by two major sects; the Holy and the Evil.
Kau Jong (Raymond) and Zi Ling (Ray) were clever orphans who grew up together. Kau Jong is an extrovert and ambitious, while Zi Ling is an introvert and quiet. Wherever they went they were despised and mistreated by other people, therefore, they vowed to be successful one day. They accidentally came across the Manual of Immortal Routine after rescuing a Korean girl, Fu Kwun Cheuk (Christine Ng), from warlord Yu Man Fa Kup (Lee Chi Hung). Kwun Cheuk noticed that they have potential to practice the Immortal Routine. She become soon the ''pretty adopted mother '' and and teacher...
Once they have learnt this routine, they have powers enabling them to become more than the poor peasants they have known all their life. They have a chance to be more and make a difference....

This is an ok series. Ray and Ron kinda overact in some parts. The girls are really pretty.

I dislike this series. The fighting scenes look.....cheesy and weird. The storyline is pretty interesting though

tuyet, I think its not the author that made ray die. Its ray who reqeust that his character should die, just to make his character more memorable

i think of_the_fire_roots meant that though he died in this series,but for the sequel,he got resurrected. so we'll get to see him acting in the sequel. yay. :lol:

The series was good, but I am not really looking forward to the sequal

I liked ToBs. I don't see why you didn't like the fighting scene. It wasn't cheesy at all. Also I liked the ending. It was a pretty happy ending too.

I'm debating as to being happy to hear this news or indifference.
The one thing that I'm not really happy about is that the sequel left out Li Qian/Yuk Chi...
I myself a KJ and YC fan and am very fond of their luv story...therefore I'm not quite comfortable to have him falling head over heel inluv with another girl...
Sorry, I may sound bias...but that's just how I feel.
For sure that I'll skip this serie.

TOB got quite a few draggy parts...However, bc of the chemistry between Kau Chong and Yuk Chi was SOO GOOD, I felt that it saved the serie. If not for them, I'd had gave up. I read some of your comments. So the sequel won't have Yuk Chi? OMG..I totally dislike sequel that doesn't keep the original main leads. To me, Yuk Chi is the biggest female lead in TOB. I can see if Sau Ning is not in it but why Yuk Chi? It will ruined my love for TOB if Kau Chong ends up with someone else especially, if it's Sau Ning in the sequel. :rawr: No sequel please unless it's KC/YC together!!

This series was ok at first, but then as the story develops..its not as good. I preferred Raymond's storyline more than Ron's.

Me find the Ron and Raymond acting in this series is quite ok......

i prefer Raymond's acting more than Ron's, and in this series Ron's storyline was quite boring if i was to be honest.

Raymond is quite playful in this series, and sentmental person but he got a sad ending.......He is hot :sp2: too....

they were lows class then gotten to high class
both got 2 lovers
both become really strong cuz of a vest? o.O
the fighting scence suck ... ROCH scence were 10x better

Actually I don't agree with you. I liked it because of the storyline, not the actors/actresses. I liked it, it was not bad at all.
