[2007.06.22] HUGE: LIFE NOT RUINED AFTER DISFIGUREMENT; NEW IMAGE AFTER RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

Having rested for almost a year due to a traffic accident, HuGe will be holding a grand comeback unveiling conference in BeiJing today (22nd). Prior to this, he’d accepted an interview from 《陳辰週日全明星》 (“ChenChen Sunday Star”), and for the first time talked about snippets of matters after his car accident. He divulged that he’d once been afraid to deal with everything head-on but finally still persevered. This interview will be broadcasted this Sunday at 17:45 by 东方卫视 (Dragon TV).
According to HuGe’s recollection, he had to rush to Hong Kong for promotional activities immediately after finishing filming on the day of the traffic accident. There were one male and one female colleagues seated in the car. HuGe and the male colleague took turns to drive. HuGe drove first and his colleague took over mid-route. He then sat in the passenger seat next to the driver. The female colleague ZhangMian subsequently changed seats with HuGe to let him have some momentary rest in the backseat. Unthinkably just shortly after, they had a car accident and the female colleague sitting in the front passenger seat died. In dealing with the tragedy, HuGe revealed that he was unable to acknowledge this fact for a period of time: “I dared not open the door. If I open that panel of door, I’ll have to face reality.”
Despite having dodged a misfortune, HuGe’s injuries were nonetheless very serious. He expressed that when he felt his face with his hand while lying inside the Ambulance, “I stopped the moment I touched. The sensation was like feeling the top of a pile of minced meat.” In the face of possible risk of disfigurement, HuGe frankly said that he did not have that kind of anguished feeling imagined by everyone. He simply felt helpless. He said: “I felt that only my face was ruined. My life will not be ruined. My brain is still in good condition; can still ponder and think. When I was lying inside the Ambulance, I did think that I might not be able to continue in this profession. I felt it didn’t matter as there are still many lines of work.”
HuGe further disclosed that his temperament was most unstable from November last year to January this year. During that time, he’d thought of “escaping”, “I was prepared to go somewhere far away. I also didn’t think of where to go. May be I’ll just stay on the train and alight at a place I find interesting for a 2-day visit.” Nevertheless, this was a fleeting thought. Ultimately, HuGe has chosen to make a comeback. He voiced that he’d return for love.

Way to be positive and fight through to make a comeback, Hu Ge! I also like the line "He voiced that he'd return for love." Such a great guy, our Hu Ge ^_^
